History

Indonesia's Banking Development Institute (LPPI) was established through Certificate No. 35 by Mr. Suwandi Notary Office with the name The Bank Foundation Academy on December 18, 1958 with the early founders consisting of members of Bank Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Industri Negara, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Tabungan Pos, Perbana Bank and Cadres Education Foundation. The LPPI experienced some name changes. Through the change of Certificate No. 73 published by Notary Office Raden Soerojo Wongsowidjojo 21 August 1963, The Bank Foundation Academy changed into The College of Science of Finance and Banking (PTIKP), which is under the Minister of PTIKP The Affairs Of The Central Bank/Governor of Bank Indonesia.

On April 30, 1970 with The Certificate No. 94 by Abdul Latief Notary Office, changed its name to Indonesia's Banking Development Foundation (YPPI), with its founders consisting of Bank Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bank Pembangunan Indonesia (Bapindo), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Dagang Negara (BDN), Bank Ekspor Impor Indonesia (BEII), Bank Bumi Daya (BBD), Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) and National Private Banking (Perbanas).

The founder of Indonesia's Banking Development Institute (LPPI), is Bank Indonesia through The Certificate No. 24 by Notary Office Karsono SH with dated December 29, 1977, with the aim of:

Creating high quality banking leaders.

Increasing the value/quality of banking knowledge by organizing research relating to problems in the banking world.

Nurture and expand the understanding of the community's response to the banking world.

LPPI briefly changed its name to the Indonesia Bankers Institute (IBI) through The Certificate No. 58 by Notary Office Modofir Hadi SH dated January 8, 1993. Rachmat Saleh (as Bank Indonesia’s Governor) stated intention and willingness of Bank Indonesia to continue business development YPPI (LPPI) with the financial backing of Bank Indonesia.

On October 30, 2002 IBI's National Council decided that IBI will be the organization for banking profession in Indonesia and releases its duties of education, training, research, development and consultation. On August 29, 2003 IBI is handed back to the Trustees of the LPPI Foundation . During the transitional period, all operational activities of the institute continue to run as usual.

On December 31, 2003 IBI turned its name back to LPPI through Certificate No. 117, published by the Notary Office Imas Fatimah with the founders of YPPI.

On December 27, 2012 according to The Certificate No. 5 by Ferry Mahendra Solanki, S.H., is the beginning of the new era of LPPI that is still running today.
